An investigation was launched late last year, when Cheshire resident Jonathan Martin, 36, allegedly wrote a Westport resident the bad check, and after several unsuccessful attempts to collect the monies due, Martin’s victim filed a police report on Oct. 6 last year, which led to a warrant for his arrest.
Police said that on Friday, Feb. 23, with an assist from the Cheshire Police Department, Martin was taken into custody, arrested and charged with issuing a bad check. Following arraignment, Martin was released after posting $10,000 bond. He is due back in Norwalk Court on March 2 to answer the charge.
